On 23 April, the Federal Ministry of Finance issued a letter extending the deadline for submitting quarterly and monthly income tax returns during the coronavirus crisis, as the coronavirus has prevented income tax returns from being submitted on time in large parts of Germany.
Employers can therefore extend the deadlines for submitting monthly or quarterly wage tax returns during the coronavirus crisis in individual cases upon request. The condition for this is that the employer itself or the person authorised to submit the income tax return was demonstrably prevented from submitting it on time through no fault of their own. The deadline may be extended by a maximum of two months.
Your TAXGATE team will support you in extending the declaration deadline if you are unable to meet it through no fault of your own.
